Version 4 extends support to the latest enterprise technologies. Facilita aims to support the broadest range of technology of any load testing tool. It has been designed to enable the easy addition of application-specific extensions, and to provide organisations with both a future-proof platform and upgrade path for the testing of any current or future application. This new release also sees the launch of Analyzer, a state-of-the-art charting and reporting solution that replaces Facilita’s previous Statistics Workbench tool, and gives testers a powerful means of producing clear and meaningful reports on their testing activities.

Reducing Time Taken to Create Meaningful Tests
Facilita Version 4 has been engineered to make it simpler for testers to create tailored runtime and script recording/generation modules to target specific applications or application frameworks. Thanks to Version 4’s new architecture, complex load testing scenarios are easier to configure, simpler testing significantly reduces the maintenance and skills needed over the life of a project. Highly complex applications that were previously untestable – or couldn’t be tested properly within budget constraints – can now be fully and economically tested using the Facilita framework.

Providing Framework Support for Application Specific Solution Creation
A key feature of the company’s Version 4 solution is its comprehensive extensibility, enabling the easy incorporation of application-specific extensions, the addition of customer-specific solutions for real-world testing, and the ability to handle a customer’s own complex data. Facilita Version 4 also features improved dynamic control of test runs, aiding in test experimentation and accelerating test development and performance analysis.

Increasing Technical Coverage
This latest Facilita release includes a new .NET runtime engine, in addition to major enhancements to the Java and C++ (native Windows, Unix and Linux) engines. The  .NET engine allows the testing of applications implemented on Microsoft’s .NET framework that deploy thick clients, the simulation of intermediate tiers in multi-tier Microsoft-based architectures, and the testing of Web Services. Version 4 also offers support for thin clients and GUI automation with comprehensive Citrix and terminal server testing.
