Recorders and Generators
A Forecast recorder records a users dialog with a system under test to produce a trace. A trace is the input to a script generator which along with rules and application knowledge generates a script in an industry standard language.
- Recorders for Web, TCP/IP, Databases, Java and Citrix.
- Automatic or manual transaction annotation.
- Application specific rules to recognise common patterns and aid data correlation.
- Add your own rules to further improve data correlation and paramerisation.
- Recorded traces can be edited and annotated.
- Test scripts are generated automatically from session recordings.
- For much testing, there is no requirement to edit the generated scripts.
- The script languages are high-level and very easy to use without advanced programming skills, but the full power of the script language is available.
- Script languages depend on the protocol, and include C++,Java, C#, VB .NET and Python
- Per-Virtual User data, such as usernames and form fields can be easily applied to the scripts so each Virtual User performs different actions.

- Allows detailed visual inspection of the recording.
- For Web, Full DOM and DOM category analysis and HTTP protocol elements are clearly displayed.
- Full protocol stack decode for TCP/IP traffic.
- Clear SQL transactions for database recording.
- Java methods and parameters for Java recording.
- Keystrokes, mouse actions, window events and bitmaps for Citrix.
