Macro 4 and Facilita forge partnership to target $4 billion application testing and performance market

Joint solution will cut time required to test new applications by an estimated 40 per cent

Macro 4 and Facilita are announcing a technical and sales partnership which includes integrating their performance management and load testing products in a move designed to capture a bigger slice of the $4 billion market for application testing, availability and performance*.

The two companies will create an integrated, easy to use, management ‘front end’ to combine Facilita’s Forecast load testing and simulation software and Macro 4’s Application Performance Portal (A.P.P.) solution for monitoring application performance in Java environments.

“Together we can reduce the time and costs involved in testing new systems before they go live in full production environments by around 40%,” said Gordon McKeown, Facilita’s Managing Director. “If an application breaks or goes slow during load testing, users can now identify the cause of the problem and fix it much more quickly, using Macro 4’s performance monitoring capabilities. Testing effort is vastly reduced and applications get into production faster.”

Alan Sloan, Chief Operating Officer at Macro 4 continued: “In the past some companies opted out of load testing because they felt it was too time-consuming. That’s a high risk strategy, because applications that can’t cope with the right throughput will crash and burn sooner or later, with potentially massive repercussions for productivity and customer service. We believe this new solution will increase the uptake of load testing – and ultimately safeguard company reputations - by making it much quicker and easier.”
