Testing Windows Applications via GUI

ForecastTM WinDriver is a unique solution for performance testing Microsoft Windows applications that are impossible or uneconomic to test using internal APIs or network protocols, or where accurate measurement of user experience is a prime requirement.

ForecastTM WinDriver automates the application GUI. A test consists of from one to many hundreds of concurrent client instances or desktops (real or virtual), enabling the performance testing of applications where the client-server protocols are hidden or too complex to script.

Unlike dedicated functional test tools, ForecastTM WinDriver is specifically designed for performance testing with a low hardware footprint and is sensibly licensed to allow high Virtual User concurrencies for a reasonable cost.

Key Features
Scalability and technology support
  • Can be used to drive client applications written in Visual Basic, .NET, Microsoft Foundation Classes, Delphi and many other frameworks layered over Microsoft Windows components.
  • Each Virtual User drives a separate Windows desktop. These can be PCs, terminal server sessions, virtual machines, Citrix sessions or a mixture.
  • Can be used to load test terminal servers, Citrix servers or virtual machines.
  • Run in combination with other ForecastTM Virtual Users to enable "user-experience" measurements whilst generating server load using protocol-based Virtual Users.
  • Efficient runtime engine so there is no significant overhead. Run from one to thousands of WinDriver Virtual Users in the same way as other ForecastTM Virtual user types.
